She joined Sykes Signs in 2000 on a full time basis after having assisted with the accounts from 1998. Mrs. Hickey holds a diploma in Hotel Management and certificates from Hotel Schools in Switzerland and Kenya. In November 2015 she was one of 20 Women Entrepreneurs selected to be part of The Brilliant Entrepreneur Programme run by Zimtrade and The Dutch Embassy
